The Power of Caregiving: How My Time with Eric and His Family Inspired Me to Start My Own Homecare Business.
In 2015, I took a part-time job as a direct support professional while attending college, never realizing it would ignite a passion within me. Little did I know, this role would lead me down a path of purpose and entrepreneurship.
At the care-giving company, I met incredible clients and families, including Eric and his loved ones. Over five unforgettable years, I cared for Eric, a vibrant country music enthusiast, supporting him with daily tasks, medication management, and community activities. We form strong bond, and I became an extension of his family. Eric’s family trusted me completely and appreciated my dedication. When he passed away, they expressed their heartfelt gratitude in a touching message: “You were amazing with Eric, and we know how much of a difference you made in his life every single day you spent with him.”
This experience reminded me of the profound impact caregivers can have on individuals and their loved ones. Inspired by this experience, I decided to start my own caregiver business, dedicated to continuing the legacy of compassionate care that I provided to Eric and his family.
